FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any paperwork or pre-treatment instructions I need to review prior to my appointment?

Yes! You will receive an email upon booking your appointment that will welcome you to create and sign in to your patient dashboard. The patient dashboard houses important information such as pre-appointment paperwork and consents, ability to modify or cancel your appointment, and view pre and post treatment instructions. Please complete all required paperwork prior to your appointment for efficiency and ease at your appointment.

Are there any treatments I can receive while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Unfortunately, most aesthetic treatments have not been clinically studied in the population of pregnant or breastfeeding women. Therefore, it is best to avoid injectable aesthetic procedures until you are not pregnant and no longer breastfeeding. However, many women like to receive Botox/Dysport and/or dermal filler before they begin trying to conceive and this is completely safe.

When can I expect to see results from my Botox or Dysport treatment?

You will notice your Botox or Dysport begin taking effect in 3 to 7 days. A full 14 days is needed for the maximum effect to be reached. After two weeks you are welcome to schedule a follow up appointment for any touch-ups.

What is PRP and what should I expect during my appointment?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a vital component of your blood that is packed with healing growth factors. PRP can be used to inject back into the skin or as a topical add-on during microneedling. Obtaining the PRP involves drawing your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge very fast for 10 minutes. This spinning process separates the plasma via a gel membrane from the rest of your blood which we are then able to extract out of the tube to use for your treatment. PRP can be used to treat dark under-eye circles, smile lines, thinning hair, and more!

With any injectable procedure at Sarah Jayne Aesthetics, you will be numbed to ensure comfort. It is important that you come hydrated to ensure a good blood sample!

What are the differences between dermal filler and PDO Threads? Why would I choose one over the other?

Dermal fillers address volume loss and PDO threads address skin laxity! Dermal filler and PDO threads can be done by themselves or used together and are great accompanying treatments to one another.

As we age, our facial fat pads shrink and fall causing nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jowling. Depending on your age, skin integrity, and volume loss, dermal filler may be enough to help re-volumize key facial structures to minimize the appearance of folds and aging. In other circumstances, filler alone is not enough and PDO threads are needed to first lift the skin to replace the facial fat pads up, creating a more lifted and youthful appearance. This lifting prepares your face for dermal filler and optimizes results!

There are also smooth, non-lifting threads that are wonderful to use for improving skin elasticity, texture, laxity, and volume. These smooth threads can be placed most places on the face as well as the body!
